CryptoQuant CEO: Bitcoin Whales Amass $2,967,768,000 Worth of 47,000 BTC Within 24 Hours Amid ‘New Era’
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju announced that Bitcoin whales have acquired nearly $3 billion worth of BTC in just 24 hours. According to Ju, these deep-pocketed investors purchased tens of thousands of BTC, signaling the start of a new era in the cryptocurrency market. Using CryptoQuant search filters, Ju identified these whales as holders of at least 100 BTC, with a recent transaction and not categorized as a centralized exchange or miner wallet. Ju clarified that this surge in whale activity is unrelated to the approval of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds by the SEC. In a previous statement, Ju revealed that newer crypto whales, defined as investors holding at least 1,000 Bitcoin with an average coin age of less than 155 days, accumulated twice as much BTC as long-term holders. This transfer of old BTC tokens to new holders coincided with a 13-year peak in Bitcoin’s average dormancy rate. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $63,582, reflecting a 2.86% increase in the last 24 hours.
