Report Scammers Use AI Voice to Ask for Crypto on Fake SpaceX Livestream with Elon Musks Name
A recent report reveals that more than 100,000 individuals watched a fabricated SpaceX livestream featuring a blend of genuine video footage and an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated Elon Musk voiceover.
As per a report and screenshot from TrustNodes, over 125,000 viewers tuned in to a SpaceX livestream on a counterfeit YouTube channel displaying a QR code soliciting crypto donations on the display screen. The QR code remained visible throughout the entire livestream.
Despite lacking an official verification check mark, the YouTube channel @SpaceXFromElon boasts nearly 3 million subscribers. In contrast, the legitimate SpaceX YouTube channel @SpaceX has 6.7 million subscribers and the crucial verified check mark.
During the phony live broadcast, the AI-generated Elon Musk voice touted the advantages and potential profits of Bitcoin (BTC) before directly urging viewers to scan the QR code in a bid to make them cryptocurrency wealthy. The prevalence of AI-generated crypto scam videos has been increasing alongside the advancement of technology. Elon Musk often finds himself as a prime target, with the same channel utilizing the identical livestream tactic during the eclipse just two months prior.
Elon Musk is widely recognized in the crypto community for his support of Dogecoin (DOGE). Information regarding how many viewers acted on the QR code remains currently undisclosed.
