Ethereum-Based Privacy Protocol Skyrockets 168% Following Backing from Vitalik Buterin
Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum (ETH), has emphasized the importance of on-chain privacy after his recent transaction using the Railgun protocol. According to data from Arkham Intelligence, Buterin transferred 100 ETH using the privacy protocol. This move has led to a surge in the price of RAIL, the utility token of the Railgun protocol, increasing by 168% from $0.58 to $1.56. Buterin expressed his support for privacy, stating that Railgun’s use of the privacy pools protocol makes it difficult for malicious actors to compromise users’ privacy. Railgun gained attention last year when it was linked to North Korean hackers, specifically the Lazarus Group. The privacy protocol has now become a popular alternative to Tornado Cash, which was sanctioned by the US Treasury due to its alleged use by the Lazarus Group for money laundering. It is important for investors to conduct their own research before engaging in high-risk investments in Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, or digital assets.
