CryptoQuant CEO Predicts the Future “Killer Use Case” of Cryptocurrency

The CEO of market intelligence firm CryptoQuant has identified a potential future use case for crypto assets. In a recent thread, Ki Young Ju informed his 402,000 followers on the social media platform X that the political process could eventually be tokenized due to its narrative-driven nature. Ki believes that the design of digital assets makes them well-suited for politics, highlighting the recent launch of Trump’s crypto asset Official Trump (TRUMP) as just the beginning.

According to Ki, “PoliFi” will be a killer use case for cryptocurrencies. He explains that a strong crypto asset attracts capital and talent through a compelling narrative, creating a self-building internet organization. The power of a narrative increases when it resonates with the majority, features extreme and provocative themes, and sparks divisive debate.

Politics checks all three boxes as it is widely relatable, provocative, and inherently polarizing. Ki suggests that political parties should issue their own coins, allowing members to invest and foster a sense of belonging, while the free market quantifies public sentiment. These communities, with their built-in narratives, would be self-sustaining and highly engaged. Ki envisions both the Republican and Democratic parties launching official PoliFi coins, and ETFs tracking politician-backed tokens.

Ki also notes that a “selective” altcoin season is currently underway, where altcoins from certain groups are managing to stay afloat despite uncertain market conditions. He explains that only a few altcoins have a high correlation to Bitcoin at the moment, with infrastructure coins like Ethereum performing sluggishly, while those tied to institutional adoption, stablecoins, and memes have survived.

At the time of writing, TRUMP is trading at $17.39, experiencing a fractional increase during the day. Ki concludes by suggesting that altcoins with strong narratives and ties to specific groups could continue to thrive in the current market.
