Uniswap Labs Introduces Mainnet for Ethereum Layer-2 Unichain Launch
Uniswap, the leading decentralized exchange, has officially launched its new Ethereum layer-2 blockchain called Unichain. In an announcement from Uniswap Labs, it was stated that the Unichain mainnet has been launched as planned. Unichain is designed to optimize decentralized finance (DeFi) transactions on the Ethereum network. Developers can now use Unichain to deploy applications and build with stablecoins, while users of the new layer-2 blockchain can fund their wallets, launch tokens, use new applications, provide liquidity, and perform swaps.
Unichain’s advantages are highlighted in a post on the social media platform X:
– Fast with low fees
– Built for cross-chain liquidity
– Prioritizes decentralization from day one
Coinbase, a leading US cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its support for Unichain. Coinbase Onramp now offers a seamless way for Unichain users to convert fiat currency to cryptocurrency, with fee-free USDC on-ramping available at launch. Unichain is described as a fast and decentralized layer-2 blockchain designed to be a home for DeFi and cross-chain liquidity.
Uniswap Labs had previously announced the upcoming launch of the Unichain mainnet. Once the safety and stability of the new system are validated, the mainnet will be open to the public. Users will be able to transfer funds directly to the network, and applications supporting Unichain will go live.
