Mark Cuban the Billionaire Rapidly Sells More Than Twelve NFTs Within a 48Hour Span Places Two Additional Ones on the Market
Celebrity mogul Mark Cuban has recently sold off a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that had been dormant for several years. Over the span of a weekend and Monday, Cuban successfully auctioned 14 NFTs, the most valuable being a “Pudgy Penguin” token that fetched nearly $31,000 in Ethereum, as per Cuban’s OpeanSea profile. Additionally, he put up two NFTs for sale which are yet to find buyers: a “MFFL” token priced at over $51,000 in ETH and a “Deuteronomy 25:4” token valued at more than $17,000 in the second-largest cryptocurrency.
Prior to this recent flurry of activity, Cuban’s last NFT transaction on OpenSea dated back nearly 2.5 years. The Shark Tank star has previously voiced optimism about NFTs, particularly in an interview with Forbes in 2022 where he highlighted their potential in the publishing industry, especially for textbooks. He envisioned a digital solution to the cumbersome process of buying and reselling physical books, emphasizing the advantages of NFTs in providing ongoing royalties to authors and publishers upon resale.
