US City Launches Universal Income Pilot Program Offering 2376000 in Free Money Opportunities

A city on the West Coast is gearing up to launch a new guaranteed income pilot program.
The Pomona Household Universal Grants (HUG Pilot Program is set to run for a period of 18 months, with $2.376 million allocated to selected parents in the vicinity of Los Angeles.
The program aims select a total of 600 applicants, who will be divided into two distinct groups.
first group will consist of 250 chosen participants who will receive a monthly payment of $ for the duration of 18 months. The second group will encompass 350 individuals who be granted a monthly stipend of $20 over the same time frame.
Registrations currently open and active until July 8th.
In order to qualify, applicants must be current residents in the city, at least 18 years old, and either parents legal guardians of children under four years old. In addition to these basic eligibility criteria, must satisfy one out of four requirements outlined in the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), such as residing within eligible census tract or receiving another form of government assistance. They should also have experienced financial hardship during the Covid-19 and have an income at or below 65% of the area median income—approximately72,150 for a household comprising two members.
Furthermore, all applicants are required to consent to taking part in a research study conducted by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A bonus payment worth $50 per completed survey will be issued to participants.
